Video Of The Day: Tashaki Miyaki

There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

Directed by James Franco, the video for Tashaki Miyaki's breathless, swaggering "Girls On T.V." takes the idea of a midnight neon cowgirl and runs with it. The mesmeric, mockingly narcissistic ("I didn't hear a word you said/but I love Kurt Cobain" etc.) vocals and down and dirty strumming are right at home against the dizzying light effects. And really, who hasn't wanted to stroll down the LA streets wearing a psuedo-Nudie suit and strands of lights? Get in the mood for the band's upcoming release (The Dream is out April 7) with repeated listening/viewing.
