Singles Club: Strand of Oaks + Jesus & Mary Chain + Ela Minus
Consider Singles Club your musical matchmaker. I do hope you'll give all these ready to mingle bachelors and bachelorettes your ear as you listen to some new favorite tunes. Read on in the hopes of finding your musical love connection.
Y'all know how smitten I am with Strand of Oaks, and with "Rest of It" Mr. Showalter lets loose on some good old, hard to resist Americana-infused honest rock and roll. A nice little jam to kick out, if I do say so myself.
Just in case you haven't heard, the legendary Scots that launched hundreds of bands, The Jesus & Mary Chain, will be releasing a new record in March. "Always Sad" continues their string of perfectly fuzzed 60s pop noise and serves as a lovely little appetizer to get you ready for what's to come.
Gabriela Jimeno, AKA Ela Minus, describes her "Ceremony" as being "about getting bored of the unceremonious world we live in." While I would agree with her that her inspiration is right on, it's hard to be bored with this delightfully fizzy, sweetly synthy nugget.
