Video of The Day: Vagabon
There's a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video of The Day are a cut (or two) above.
It's not everyday you see a video with scenes in a pet shop, a swimming pool, and an aquarium. But for Vagabon's gloriously grunged "The Embers," all three settings are very much apropos.
"I'm just a small fish," sings Lætitia Tamko (also known as Vagabon) in her endearingly earthbound, smoky pixie tones. As a shark sashays behind her, she proclaims "you're a shark that hates everything/you're a shark that eats every fish." Between Ms. Tamko and her fantastic pipes, the gaggle of shirtless fellows in her company, and the sharks, the video has plenty to enjoy.
