Singles Club: GEMS

"Blow Out The Light" is the first of GEMS' songs for their project to release a song to coincide with full moons. 

It's also a song that soundtracks the breakdown of a relationship. 

In this case, art imitates life, as the duo behind GEMS split earlier this year. Instead of letting their personal break fracture their professional relationship, the band has carried on. With "Blow Out The Light," the inherent tension amidst the coolness is palpable and almost uncomfortable, as though you've walked in on a couple in the middle of a fight. Something heavy and sad hangs in the air. But as with all GEMS songs, there's undeniable beauty, even when it's the end of something.
