Singles Club - Election Edition: The Walkmen

You'll have to pardon me, I'm running on little sleep and I think I might be in shock. I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that my fellow Americans voted for a man with no political experience who is a demonstrated racist, bigot, misogynist, and bully to run our country for the next four years. 

Sure, the man's keen sense of tapping in to the fear and not-so-secret dislikes of a gross portion of the populace gets a lot of the blame. But I think the media has had a big hand in creating this over-tanned monster. By giving him so much airtime they gave him a voice, which gave him free entree into the minds of so many people. In short, I feel like we've been had. 

And so, in honor of this joke of a presidential election, I'm throwing it back to the first Walkmen song I ever heard. Because it's called "We've Been Had." 

And because, sadly, we've all been had. Every single one of us.
