Singles Club: Nicole Atkins

The lovely Nicole Atkins has a voice that could fill a room a thousand times over. Her heavenly pipes hearken back to a time long since gone, of big voices that really entertained. 

On "A Little Crazy," written with Chris Isaak, Atkins once again shows the kids how it's done, calling to mind the power of heartbroken leading ladies like Dusty Springfield and Patsy Cline as she transitions from softly lovelorn to full-on heartache. Strings and a mournful slide guitar add plenty of dramatic moments, accentuating that can't-resist voice.
