Video of The Day: Merchandise

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

The always-engaging Merchandise has unleashed a new clip for their song "Lonesome Sound," and it's worth lavishing a little attention on. Showcasing a new, dreamlike and dark synthpop-infused direction, the band hands over video direction to frontman Carson Cox, who provides those heavenly black velvet vocals. I'm partial to the spotlit Stetson shots myself, but the whole video is a dandy. And be ready to splash out on the band's new record, A Corpse Wired for Sound, out on 9/23 on 4AD.
