Video of The Day: Massive Attack featuring Hope Sandoval

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

I've loved Massive Attack for a rather long time, and when they keep making music like this I see no reason to stop. "The Spoils" features the vocal talents of the divine Hope Sandoval, and the combination of their molten, midnight beats and Hope's honey pure vocals is pure magic. The video, initially starring the mesmerizing Cate Blanchett, is a wonderful visual for the magnificent melancholy of the song. A little creepy, of course, but that's to be expected.
