Video Of The Day: Sugar Candy Mountain

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

What is it about the desert of Southern California that makes it such a perfect backdrop to any number of things? In the lovely video for Sugar Candy Mountain's "Windows" the desert in the 29 Palms vicinity hosts the band as they languidly flit here and there with instruments in tow. The sunbleached skies and forgotten landscapes provide a good visual for the song, which is itself a treat with its breathy, siren song girl group-cooing vocals and dusty lounge throwback vibes. Watch it and go back for more (and/or stream the band's long player 666, below).
