Singles Club: Steady Holiday
When I saw "Ennio Morricone" and "Nina Persson" used to describe the sound of Dre Babinski, AKA Steady Holiday, I thought "yes, please."
As it would happen, both counts are true. "Superstar" has the effortless cool and ever-so-slightly kitsch slink that hallmarks many a Morricone composition, while Babinski's vocals echo the whispered purr of Persson with an added tremor of fragility. This is quite a wonderful little song, indeed.
