Video of The Day: Hooton Tennis Club

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

Who among us hasn't felt the sudden and overwhelming wanderlust that makes one want to get out of the city and venture into the countryside for some restorative escapism? Liverpool's Hooton Tennis Club does just that in this wanderlusty clip for "Always Coming Back 2 You," directed by Douglas Hart. The mostly black and white scenes are decidedly the right fit for the song, a delicious fuzzed up pop song that marries the effortless pop sensibilities of the one and only Teenage Fanclub with the wry, jagged edges of the one and only Guided by Voices. Not bad indeed. And I adore the line "it's such a small love/but a big hurt." Watch this space.
