Video of The Day: The Twilight Sad

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

Sometimes all it takes to make video magic is two band members, some fairy lights, a gorgeous setting, and black and white film. And that's precisely what happened in the video for The Twilight Sad's "It Never Was The Same," from their forthcoming Òran Mór Session (out in mid-October). Heartfelt, almost to the brink of tears, vocals and a steady guitar strum are all the song requires to be incredibly moving, a song evocative of life among crumbling stone walls and derelict stone buildings. Beautifully melancholic, and captured wonderfully in the spare black and white video.
