Remix Fix: We Are Temporary Does Ruane Maurice

In theory I like the idea of the remix: taking someone else's song and tweaking it the way you want it done. It's a great means for completely redoing something, and for reinterpretation. Sometimes remixes go awry, and sometimes they're better than the original. Remix Fix is all about the happy medium when a remix totally nails it and makes a song that much better.

There's something about We Are Temporary's remix of Ruane Maurice's "Peaked" that I just can't stop listening to. Ruane Maurice's vocals totally make me think of the Faithless period I went through years ago, but the We Are Temporary treatment takes Ruane Maurice somewhere less grounded and into more rarified, ethereal air. It's a perfect end-of-summer song, kissed by the hint of a chill and smoldering more than a little. Listen and enjoy, y'all.
