Crossing The Pond: Canyons

Sometimes it takes a while for a band to hit their stride, but Newcastle's Canyons appears to have gotten quite lucky. 

Just over a year old, the four-piece makes a fine little noise indeed, blending sweetly twee pop with a harder, gritty edge that perfectly plays off the band's impeccable boy-girl vocals. It's a decidedly winning combination. Not bad indeed for a year in. Here's hoping they stick around for a while to come.
