Crossing The Pond: Trembling Bells

It's well-known I'm a sucker for Scotland, but if you add psych to the equation, I'm pretty much going to instantly fall in love.

It literally just happened with Glasgow psych outfit Trembling Bells. Together since 2008 and already on their fifth record (The Sovereign Self), the five-piece shows early signs of making quite an impression. With gorgeous, spookily swirling vocals, and instrumentation that calls to mind Black Mountain among others, "Killing Time in London Fields" is nothing short of resplendent. At times this storm of psych folk/prog touches otherworldliness, and is a perfect listen for my fellow psych lovers. Keep your eyes on them, I know I certainly will.
