Video Of The Day: TOY

There’s a bunch of videos out there. Some of them are good. Some of them are a cut above. I like to think my picks for Video Of The Day are a cut (or two) above.

I always thought that videos should sort of make sense with the song they were made for. However, there's a lot of videos that don't seem to share that idea. The video for TOY's new jam, "As We Turn," happily was made to fit the song. Or perhaps the song was made to fit the video...in any event, the ethereal, psych rock noise of the song is given life in this clip that feels like a throwback to the early 70s. Bright, undulating lights, shadowy band performance shots, and, of course, swirling kaleidoscope lusciousness make this video the perfect backdrop for the song. I dig it.
