Free For All: Lazyeyes
Times are tough out there, and for many of us buying music has become quite an indulgence (albeit a necessary one). Happily, there are some lovely musician folk out there that have offered up some fruits of their labors to the masses, free of charge. Free For All celebrates these wonderful people, and you, dear reader types.
The first time I listened to this here EP, I was pretty much knocked out. Repeated listens proved that initial listen to be more than a fluke. This eponymous set of four songs is a breath of fresh air, filled with all good things that make yours truly incredibly happy (i.e. plenty of fuzz, a dash of rambunctiousness, and floaty, breathy vocals). These Brooklynites come off dreamy and whimsical, very much in the Beach Fossils vein, and the heady, headstrong "Nostalgia" is probably one of my favorite songs of all of 2013. Lazyeyes definitely got the EP objective spot on, because it feels like a really great tease and definitely has me wanting more. Bring on that album, I say!
