Singles Club: John Newman

There is catchy, there is addictive, and then there is "Love Me Again."

The baby-faced crooner with the completely unpretentious name, John Newman, defies his youthfulness and delivers a fabulous modernized take on good old UK Northern Soul, perfectly-produced and just poppy enough to enjoy mass appeal (yet swanky enough to warrant serious consideration from the more discerning musicos).  It's a song fit for dancing, to put it mildly.

Newman also earns serious bonus points for the accompanying video, starring a Romeo and Juliet for modern times (unhappy ending, sure, but those dancers!). I've been listening to this all weekend, and show no signs of stopping anytime soon.

That this song is destined to be huge isn't even up for discussion, really. It's only a matter of time.
