Sounds Of MACRoCk #3: Little Big League

Early April in the Western Virginia mountains, friends, there’s nothin’ finer. Well, perhaps if you throw in a weekend’s worth of great bands. Oh hey, that’s exactly what happens every year at the Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference, otherwise known as MACRoCk. I went to my first MACRoCk last year and had such a grand ole time that I’m heading back down once again. Here’s a sampling of the bands that I’ll be taking in, and the bands you should get to know even if you’re not getting your MACRoCk on.

And now for something completely different, quoth the Pythons. Little Big League comes to MACRoCk from the City of Brotherly Love, and believe you me there is plenty to love about this band. In "Tokyo Drift," they first lull you into a false sense of serene, languid security before getting seriously shoegaze all over the place, Michelle Zauner's vocals channeling 80s and 90s grungegaze goddesses with a blend of sweetness coated with bourbon and tar. The guitar swirls knock me out, y'all. This is a band to keep an eye on for damned sure.
