Sounds Of SXSW #21: backwords

SXSW is upon us once again, my friends, and sadly, for mostly work-related reasons, I won't be there (alas, alack, etc etc). However, there are plenty of good bands that will be in Austin, and I'm going to post little somethin-somethins for y'all to enjoy, whether you're headed down to Texas or not.

I've officially fallen in love with "Anywhere Now," as recorded by Brooklynites backwords. It's one of the purtiest little songs about a decaying relationship that I've ever heard, pastoral psych-tinted folkpop stylings sugar-coating lyrics like "anywhere now/as long as I am not near you" and "I can tell that things are over/it's in the way you move." I already feel this one racking up quite a play count on the old iPod as the weather warms up.
