Drink To Me: Madonna

Among Pablo Picasso's last words was the fantastic sentiment "Drink to me." Obviously, this was a man after my own heart. In Picasso's honor, I wanted to take a stroll through bar menus across DC and track down any and every cocktail that's been inspired by musicians. And, of course, subsequently drink them. Never mind Drinkify, it's time for Drink to Me!

In honor of her seriously badass Super Bowl performance (sorry, but even I was impressed, and my expectations had been all sorts of low), I figured Madonna was the perfect entertainer with which to begin. I've been imbibing the incredibly delicious cocktails at the Hotel Helix's swanky Helix Lounge for a good number of years, and their Material Girl cocktail has been on the menu for as long as I can remember.

A luscious concoction of Absolut Citron vodka, black raspberry liqueur, fresh lemon, and champagne float, this sass in a glass would probably even win approval from Madge herself. And even if not, I sure do love this little drink. It tastes even better than it looks, the sure sign of a quality cocktail if you ask me. After stopping by this past week to knock one back, I'm pretty sure I'll be heading back for more in the near future. I recommend, local friends, you try this here Material Girl on for size.
