Fuzzy Logic @ STPP Fest - The Late Virginia Summers

It's almost here, friends! The Fall installment of the STPP Fest is nigh upon us, and it's about time to get to know the musicians that are part of the showcase yours truly has put together. Come spend your weekend at The Islander with us!

BIO: Having survived a handful of lineup changes, TLVS is currently a two piece that works with other artists from time to time. Sonically, the group plays off both the shoegazing bliss of the 90′s & the ambient texture of 21st century post rock.

“This is a taste of the full length album TLVS is working on for Harding Street. TLVS would fit in well with Chicago’s avant scene with their free form wondering instrument experiments.” (what to wear during an orange alert)

“Building atop cinematic melodies with loops, drones and interlaced percussion, these northern neighbors showcase a sonic bravura that links them to Do Make Say Think, Boom Bip and Tortoise. Think big.” (indy weekly)

“The dangling threads of reverberated guitar notes, astronomical low end, and aquatic rhythm bring to mind Mogwai circa Rock Action and more ambient Do Make Say Think. Space rock is still very much alive, and it’s gotten intensely melodic as of late.” (the decibel tolls)

mp3: Heather Majestic Purple (live) (The Late Virginia Summers - more here)

The Late Virginia Summers plays Saturday at 6pm.
