Fuzzy Logic @ STPP Fest - Dead Fame
It's almost here, friends! The Fall installment of the STPP Fest is nigh upon us, and it's about time to get to know the musicians that are part of the showcase yours truly has put together. Come spend your weekend at The Islander with us!
BIO: US indie rock band Dead Fame take many of their cues from post-punk bands such as Wire, Gang of Four, Bauhaus, and New Order, with influences from music produced during the New Wave movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s. By adding a contemporary pop twist to elements inspired by ambitious and sometimes darker ethos, Dead Fame appeals to listeners looking for both lyrical and challenging melodies, as well as those who relish in electronic club beats. Dead Fame started in 2009 as a project by producer and DJ Christopher DeNitto and guitarist KC Byrnes, before painstakingly recruiting new members to expand their synth, guitar, and sample-based sound. With the additions of bassist Sadie Powers and drummer Eric Klemen, the tremendous potential of the new project was enhanced. The group immediately began writing new material, but it was with the discovery of singer/lyricist Michael Means that dynamic creativity took flight and the band began to craft their distinctly compelling sound.
At times soaring and uplifting pop-fueled escape, and at others, dark and foreboding states of intensity—somewhere between heaven and hell lies the Dead Fame.
