Meet The Boom Bang
I owe my love for this here band to the mysticalness of the internets. It moves in mysterious ways, that's for damn sure. I really don't know how I managed to find them, but I sure am mighty glad I somehow stumbled upon The Boom Bang. They represent Oklahoma something fine with some big, bad garage-surf-scuzz, I've had their song "Get Erased" in my head for weeks now.
Off the World War Fun LP released earlier this year, "Get Erased" is three minutes of diabolical, demonically frenetic fuzzery and guitar-driven fury. The Boom Bang incorporates the straightforward pummeling of contemporaries The Black Lips and hints of retro theatrics (Roxy Music? New York Dolls? T. Rex? Perhaps a dash of all three). I could (and actually have done so) listen to this song for hours on end. It's a dynamite little song, and I'm pretty sure you'll love it as much as I do.
