Newsflash!: DC Can Has Festival!
DC + a festival has long proved a not-so-winning equation, for some reason. Many have tried, and many have, well, not done so well. DC still lacks a festival on par with the big boys; It is sad but true that we have no SXSW, no CMJ, not even a NXNE.
But happily, Fuzzy Logic's brother blog, Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie, is working on giving the people what they want: a 2-day, jam-packed crazy insane festival of goodness, right in the heart of the U Street Corridor.
Perhaps the neatest thing about the STPP Fest is, in my opinion, the sheer volume of local-ish bands that are scheduled to play. Oh, and there's also the whole value for money thing. For a mere $30 you get a weekend wristband which gets you in to see all 80+ bands the festival has scheduled. The festival is taking place on the weekend of June 4-5, and I highly recommend you migrate over for what promises to be one heck of a weekend.
