The Untitled Interview #103 – SXSW Edition: Starring Sara Lucas (Callers)

The days are getting longer, the nights are getting shorter and sweeter, and that, my little vixens, can only mean one thing: it's getting close to being almost time for the one and only SXSW. And of course, that means I had to ask some questions of the bands I'd sure want to see if I was heading down to Austin for the 25th annual SXSW-stravaganza.

Callers got themselves the blues. Despite a certain angularity and messiness (in a good way) to their sound, there’s a whole lotta blues pervading their music. Perhaps it’s the siren call of Sara Lucas, that torch singer voice of hers sounds like it could probably lure thousands of sailors to their watery graves. She’s got some lady soul, that Lucas, and the bluesitude rock of Callers will make you feel anything but. The vamp herself talks festival below.
